ABOUT

Helena Magee (she/her) is a freelance, cross-industry lighting professional based just outside of NYC in Jersey City, NJ. Originally from Dallas, TX, she earned a BFA in theatrical lighting design from Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts and has since worked prolifically in many roles, including lighting designer, assistant/associate, supervisor (touring and static), draftsperson, electrician, production electrician, technical supervisor, and 3D digital lighting artist, across several industries such as theater, dance, opera, fashion, live events, short-term luxury brand installations, corporate summits, themed entertainment, and 3D digital media (interactive environment and static imagery). Select recent collaborations include Astetyx Events, American Repertory Ballet, UVLD, The Juilliard School, and Roundabout Theatre Company.

Helena is currently accepting work in her favorite roles of assistant/associate, supervisor, or draftsperson for theater and dance in NYC and beyond, but welcomes inquiries for any related projects.
